I work almost exclusively from photographs. Therefore their quality is of paramount importance if I am to achieve a believable likeness.
As you are no doubt aware, ordinary photographs are rarely flattering to their subjects and only succeed in as much as we are able to correct the discrepancies from our own memories of the subject. Unfortunately, I do not share those memories with you and must rely entirely on the assortment of photos you are able to supply me with.
The better the quality and more varied the photos you are able to supply increases the likelihood of my achieving the portrait you are hoping for.

Prices for full figure portraits and/or specific backgrounds are subject to negotiation.

*NB To obtain the beautiful luminosity and depth associated with a finished painting in oils I require an absolute minimum working time of six weeks to allow for drying times between applications of the many layers of paint used
